Capri: Water has returned almost everywhere, with the last pockets of air slowly clearing. The situation on the island has almost returned to normal after Thursday's breakdown.

Since the evening of Saturday 22 June 2024, the water supply has gradually returned to normal on much of the island of Capri, following the failure that had affected the water network on Thursday morning.

The mayor of Capri, Paolo Falco , has revoked the ordinance prohibiting unbooked tourists from disembarking, issued as a precaution to limit consumption during the emergency.

Gori at work for the last areas still without water.

Despite the return to normality for most of the island, some areas, especially in the upper part of the municipality, are still without water due to air pockets that have formed in the pipe exiting the Schiappa reservoir.

Staff at the Gori water company are working to resolve the issue manually. They estimate the situation should return to normal within two to three hours.
