The third phase of the works of modernization of the hospital's emergency room Cardarelli. This intervention follows the renovations already completed in the reception and first assessment areas (triage and pre-triage), in the patient waiting areas and in the new space for companions.
The new tranche of work includes the renovation of the areas dedicated to the treatment of patients with low and medium severity codes (green, yellow and orange) and the modernization of the orthopedic clinic inside the emergency area. The renovated spaces will allow for more efficient management of patients, thanks to the implementation of work methods suitable for managing large flows of people.
The renovated premises will be equipped with computer stations near the patients' beds, allowing doctors to directly enter information into computerized medical records. Despite the presence of the construction site, healthcare activities will not be interrupted: the spaces inside the department have been redesigned to ensure continuity of care.
The works, however, led to a reduction in the spaces intended for waiting, temporarily limiting the emergency room's reception capacity. "The emergency room has been a service to which we have paid the utmost attention since the day I took office. Adapting the spaces of the emergency area is an extremely complex job because it must be done without interrupting assistance," said Antonio d'Amore, general director of AORN Antonio Cardarelli.
This new phase of work represents a further step forward towards the overall improvement of the emergency room, but will involve a temporary reduction in space until August 14. The general manager has communicated to the 118 service the need to limit transport to the facility and has appealed to citizens to use the emergency room only in strictly necessary cases.
