The Real Sito di Carditello (San Tammaro, Caserta) is preparing for a rebirth in the name of great Italian music with the fifth edition of the Carditello Festival. Scheduled from July 5 to September 15, the festival will host Fiorella Mannoia, Ron, Sal Da Vinci, Alex Britti, Simone Cristicchi and Amara, with a special tribute to Franco Battiato.
High Level Artists and Shows
The program, curated by artistic director Antonello De Nicola, will include five live concerts and two off-program works. Among the prominent names, Fiorella Mannoia, Ron, Sal Da Vinci, Alex Britti, Simone Cristicchi and Amara, many of whom have graced the stage of the Sanremo Festival. These artists will animate the evocative Galoppatoio di Ferdinando IV, combining music and the rich cultural and food and wine offerings of the site.
A Culturally Ambitious Challenge
Maurizio Maddaloni, president of the Fondazione Real Sito di Carditello, emphasizes how the festival represents a model of redemption and social inclusion. The event aims to celebrate the identity of Campania Felix and attract new generations of visitors with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Campania Region.
Inauguration with Alex Britti
Alex Britti will open the festival on July 5, bringing his live tour. From “Supereroi” to “Uomini”, Britti’s songs will touch the audience’s emotional chords, thanks to his unmistakable guitar that continues to reveal new sounds and emotions after his success at Sanremo with “Oggi sono io” in 1999.
Homage to Franco Battiato
The second event is scheduled for July 10 with “Torneremo ancora” by Simone Cristicchi and Amara, a mystical concert dedicated to Franco Battiato. The event will be enriched by the presence of maestro Valter Sivilotti and the soloists of the Accademia Naonis of Pordenone, as well as readings by the masters who influenced Battiato's thought.
Ron and the New Album
On July 19th it will be Ron's turn with the concert "Come una freccia in fondo al cuore". The artist will perform many of his hits, from "Non Abbiamo bisogno di parole" to "Vorrei incontrarti tra cent'anni", as well as new songs from his latest album "Sono un figlio".
Symphonic Fiorella
Fiorella Mannoia will perform on July 27th with the tour “Fiorella Sinfonica – Live con orchestra”, accompanied for the first time by a symphony orchestra. A special event to celebrate her 70th birthday.
Concert-Show by Sal Da Vinci
Sal Da Vinci will close the festival on September 12 with “UniverSal”, a concert-show that will explore the theme of universal love, between musical performances and acting. Sal Da Vinci is known for his participation in the 2009 Sanremo Festival, where he ranked third with “Non posso a farci innamorare”.
The Works Out of Program
The festival also includes two unmissable operas outside the program: “Il barbiere di Siviglia” on July 18 with the Orchestra del Teatro Goldoni di Livorno and “Cavalleria rusticana” on September 15 in collaboration with the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation. These events aim to train young musicians and rediscover the Neapolitan school of music, transforming the Real Sito into a center of musical production.
The fifth edition of the Carditello Festival demonstrates once again how culture and music can be powerful tools for rebirth and social inclusion.
