Una banda di ladri che ha messo a segno una serie di furti in aziende agricole e del settore primario in diverse regioni d’Italia è stata sgominata dalla Police of State.Sei persone, cinque cittadini romeni e un pakistano, sono state arrestate stamattina a Parete e Villa Literno su un’ordinanza di pre-trial detention in carcere emessa dal Gip del Tribunale di Perugia.
The investigations, conducted by the Flying Squad of the Perugia Police Headquarters in collaboration with that of Caserta, have allowed us to reconstruct the criminal activity of the gang, which struck in Umbria, Emilia Romagna, Lazio and Marche.
I malviventi si introducevano di notte nelle aziende, forzando i cancelli d’ingresso, e rubavano merce varia, tra cui gasolio, cavi elettrici, furgoni e attrezzature da work. Il valore complessivo dei beni sottratti ammonta a oltre 265mila euro.
The beginning of the investigations and the first shots fired
The investigations began in June 2023, following a theft in afarm of Perugia, where the thieves had stolen household appliances, diesel fuel and electrical cables. The images from surveillance cameras and telephone interceptions allowed investigators to identify the first four members of the gang, all Romanian citizens.
More thefts and the expansion of the gang
The analysis of the phone records and GPS systems of the cell phones led the investigators to discover that the gang was involved in other similar thefts in different regions of Italy: Bertinoro (FC), Viterbo, Rimini, Monbaroccio (PU), Cesena and Valmontone (RM). To these four were added two other Romanians, who alternated with the first in the commission of the crimes, in some cases also with the complicity of people still unknown.
The arrest of the gang and the escape of an accomplice
Of the six suspects, one was already detained for other crimes. The other five were tracked down and arrested in Parete and Villa Literno. However, one of them is currently untraceable and searches for him have also been launched at an international level.
