A 23-year-old Brazilian man was arrested in Caserta for assaulting his partner. The incident occurred in their home, where she lives with her one-year-old son.
According to the police reconstruction, the man attacked his partner because of a phone call he received. He squeezed her around the neck and hit her with slaps.
The woman managed to free herself and run away into the street with the child, but was caught by her partner who threw her to the ground and took the little boy with him.
The woman showed up at the police station visibly agitated and with numerous bruises on her face and neck. The officers, after taking her complaint, tracked down the man at his home, where they found him with his son.
The man was arrested in deferred flagrante delicto, a legal instrument recently introduced to combat domestic violence. He was sent to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, while the child was entrusted to his mother.
