Fear in Castellammare di Stabia, in the province of Naples: a water main explodes, homes and beaches evacuated.
Around noon, the Carabinieri responded to Via Acton. A water pipe operated by the Gori company had burst for reasons yet to be determined.
The homes below and about forty people on the beach were evacuated. Via Acton and a section of the state road 145 to Sorrento were closed. At the moment there are no injuries.
The company staff Gori The team is on site and is shutting off the main pipeline; the secondary pipeline will be activated underwater to ensure service. Repair work will follow.
