Castellammare. The State Police busted a clandestine workshop dedicated to dismantling stolen cars in Castellammare di Stabia.
During a patrol, officers from the Castellammare di Stabia Police Station observed two suspicious individuals in two cars on Via Lattaro. One of the two men parked inside an apartment building, while the other entered a basement.
Shortly after, the police heard noises coming from the premises and, having intervened, they surprised the two men who were trying to escape. The fugitives were stopped not without difficulty.
The inspection of the premises allowed us to discover a real "workshop" for the dismantling of stolen cars. Numerous car parts from various makes and models were found inside. One of the vehicles, already dismantled, was found to be stolen.
In addition, the officers found 3 jammers (frequency disruptors), a DVR system (video surveillance system) with two monitors that played images recorded by three cameras pointed at the driveway inside the condominium and a GPS tracker.
The two perpetrators, a 49-year-old and a 48-year-old both from Castellammare di Stabia with criminal records, were arrested for money laundering and resisting a public official.
