June 24th marked the launch of the "TIC – Territory, Innovation and Culture" project for Cilento children aged 5 to 14. The project is conceived as a multidisciplinary educational program that aims to connect two resources of great potential: cultural heritage and young people.

Project Objectives

"TIC - Territory, Innovation, and Culture" aims to raise awareness among young people about the importance of preserving and protecting the historical, cultural, artistic, and landscape heritage of their local area. Furthermore, the project aims to promote the principles of commitment and personal responsibility for the "common good." This will be achieved through workshops and guided tours, fostering culture and social innovation.

Upcoming Activities

The project offers a variety of activities, including the creation of audiovisual products aimed at describing the area and making the voices of the young people heard by the institutions, and guided visits to places of historical and cultural interest.

Other planned workshops include experimental archaeology, visual arts, STEM subjects, and performance (music and theater), where children will be encouraged to independently build their own instruments, also contributing to raising awareness of creative recycling.

Promotion of Active Citizenship

One of the project's primary objectives is to promote active citizenship and the well-being of minors, combating educational poverty and school dropout in an area at high risk of marginalization. The project aims to transform the historical, cultural, and natural heritage into a valuable resource for the community. This commitment reflects Article 9 of the Italian Constitution, regarding the valorization of artistic heritage, and the Faro Convention.

Dates and Collaborations

The activities of the project “TIC – Territory, Innovation and Culture” will take place from 24 June 2024 to 30 April 2025. The initiative is coordinated by the Effetto Rete social cooperative in collaboration with the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Salerno and Avellino, the GAL Casacastra, the Municipalities of Futani and Laurito, and the Comprehensive Institutes of Futani and Rofrano.
