The director Matteo Garrone will be a guest at the 14th edition of the Social World Film Festival, the International Exhibition of social cinema, which will take place from June 30 to July 7 in Vico Equense, with the artistic direction of the director Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo.
A day entirely dedicated to him, Saturday 6 July, starting with the free masterclass for young people attending the festival (to participate www.socialfestival.com/giovani). In the evening at 20,45:7 pm in the Arena Fellini his film “Io Capitano” will be screened, nominated for an Oscar as best foreign film and winner of XNUMX David di Donatello awards, which will be awarded as “Social Film of the Year”.
Garrone will imprint his signature in clay which will be transformed into bronze to be placed on the Wall of Fame, the monument to cinema that celebrates the guests of honor of the Social World including Giancarlo Giannini, Claudia Cardinale, Toni Servillo, Stefania Sandrelli, Margherita Buy, Silvio Orlando, Stefano Accorsi, Oscar winners Luis Bacalov and Mira Sorvino and many others.
Among the guests already announced are Leo Gullotta, Isa Danieli and Giorgio Pasotti, guests of the opening ceremony on June 30, together with the actress Violante Placido, recently at the cinema with “Improvvisamente a Natale mi sposa” directed by Francesco Patierno. They are joined by the welcome return of Marco D'Amore who will present his latest film “Caracas” on Wednesday July 3 at 20,45:XNUMX pm in the Fellini Arena, in which he also stars alongside Toni Servillo.
The 14th edition of the Mostra Internazionale del Cinema Sociale, organized by the City of Vico Equense, will be dedicated to Sandra Milo, who appears on this year's official poster and who will be honored with a retrospective curated by Rai Teche, and a photographic exhibition in collaboration with the Fondazione Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia – Cineteca Nazionale.
The complete programme will be revealed at the press conferences scheduled in Rome on 18 June at 11 am in the Sala Spadolini of the Ministry of Culture (Via del Collegio Romano, 27), and in Naples on 21 June at 11 am in the Sala Sanctis of the Campania Region (Via Santa Lucia, 81).
