Como. The Como State Police have reported two young Neapolitans, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old with prior property crimes, at large for defrauding an 84-year-old woman.
On Monday morning, the elderly woman received a phone call from a fake policeman who told her that her husband was under arrest at the police station and that she needed money or jewelry to resolve his situation.
While the woman was still on the phone, a young man showed up at her door, identifying himself as an emissary of the policeman, and demanded that she hand over 350 euros and some gold jewelry.
The victim reported the incident to the State Police, which began an investigation. The Mobile Squad agents, coordinated by Chief Commissioner Matteo La Porta, analyzed the images from the area's cameras and identified the scammer and his accomplice at the Como San Giovanni train station.
