I Rome prosecutors have formally entered Fabrizio Corona in the register of suspects on charges of defamation. The former paparazzo ended up under investigation after an interview given to an online newspaper in which he accused Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini of stalking a Romanian girl.
Corona he is not the only suspect. The Romanian escort who had reported Pellegrini for stalking is also involved in the investigation and is answering for the crime of slander. Yesterday, the Rome prosecutor's office ordered a house search at the woman's home, entrusting the operation to the Carabinieri of Rome and the Digos of the Parma police headquarters.
The investigation aims to clarify the circumstances of the accusations made against the Roma footballer and to verify whether there was a defamatory and slanderous intent orchestrated in concert between Corona and the escort. The affair has raised great media attention, adding a new chapter to the numerous controversies that have involved Corona over the years.
