The Treviso police commissioner, Manuela De Bernardin, has issued a two-year ban from sports events (Daspo) against a 25-year-old from Treviso, known as an ultra of the local fans. The decision was taken following the events of June 15.
The young man was involved in a serious incident before the match Euro 2024 between Italy and Albania. That evening, a few hours before the start of the match, the 25-year-old and 66 other compatriots were stopped and identified by the police in Dortmund, Germany. They were disguised and armed with poles, screwdrivers and knives, and were preparing to clash with the Albanian fans.
Fortunately, thanks to the timely intervention of the Italian State Police, which was present on site with specialized personnel, the group was stopped before any clash could occur. The young man from Treviso involved is now banned from participating in any sporting event for the next two years.
