The Campania Region is ready to contribute to the renovation of the Maradona Stadium. This was stated by the President of the Region, Vincenzo De Luca, during the press conference presenting the cultural initiatives of the "La primavera di Caivano" program.
“We are becoming the Region that invests the most in sport,” De Luca stated. “From the Universiade, with 270 million for 80 renovated sports facilities, to initiatives for young people, including the opening of the Collana and the renovation of other sports facilities.” De Luca he recalled the significant investment for the Universiade, highlighting the support given to Naples.
“For the Universiade, Napoli asked us to help and we invested almost 35 million to renovate the San Paolo.
That work allowed us to play Champions League matches in Naples that we probably wouldn’t have been able to play otherwise. A sign of attention was given to Naples and the club for the effort made by Aurelio De Laurentiis.”
