Late yesterday evening, two young Neapolitans were arrested for illegal possession of narcotics by officers from the San Carlo-Arena Police Station during a patrol near the Centro Direzionale. The officers, traveling on the SS 162 highway at the Centro Direzionale exit, noticed two young men on a scooter who, upon seeing the patrol, attempted to evade the patrol by accelerating to a gas station, where they abandoned their vehicle and attempted to escape on foot.

The officers intervened promptly, apprehending the fugitives, who, during their escape, had thrown away a package containing approximately 27 grams of cocaine. The drugs were immediately recovered by officers. During the search, the young men were found in possession of three well-concealed cell phones.

The two arrested, identified as two Neapolitans aged 18 and 32, are now accused of illegal possession of narcotics. In addition, the driver of the scooter was charged with violating the Highway Code, as he did not have a driving license. The vehicle was subjected to administrative seizure.
