On the evening of August 29, 2022, Sivo was riding a motorbike borrowed from a friend, without a license and at a speed of 78 km/h, when he hit Elvira Zibra who was crossing the street to throw out the garbage. The impact was very violent and the woman died instantly.
Victim's family: "Justice has been done, but Elvira will not come back"
Elvira's family, assisted by thelawyer Giuseppe Catalano, have constituted themselves as civil parties in the trial. Defense announces appeal
Sivo's lawyer, Joseph D'Alise, announced the appeal: "We will read the reasons for the sentence and then we will make our assessments. In court we tried to demonstrate that the poor lighting and the absence of pedestrian crossings near the accident site played a role in the tragedy."
