The price varies depending on the itinerary and length of stay on board, averaging around €140.000 to €170.000 per week. The military began investigating when they discovered that the company's accounting was handled by a professional in the Brianza area of Como. After investigations, conducted with the support of the Guardia di Finanza (Italian Navy), all the vessels' movements and routes over the last five years were reconstructed, demonstrating that the company conducted all of its business in Italy.

The rental activities, in fact, took place in Costa Smeralda and Porto Cervo in Sardinia, Sicily, in the Gulf of Naples and on the Amalfi Coast, on the island of Capri or in the Cinque Terre on the Ligurian coast. According to the Italian Finance Police, the company declared a false residence abroad for the sole purpose of evading taxes on income earned in Italy. The investigation also revealed that the captains and crew of both luxury vessels were completely unknown to the Italian tax authorities prior to the inspection. Two other crew members, in addition to failing to declare their company income, also received Citizen's Income. Those responsible were reported for failure to file their taxes.
