A major event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 11 at 18:00 p.m. at the Museo Campano in Capua, located in Via Roma n. 68. The occasion is the conclusion of three modules of the Scuola Viva project, which featured the students of the Pietro Giannone High School in Caserta.
The whole project Live School is composed of six modules, each dedicated to different aspects of dramatic, musical and choreographic expression. The ceremony will begin with greetings from the Director of the Museum, Dr. Gianni Solino, and the Headmistress, Prof. Marina Campanile. Subsequently, the tutor teachers, Prof. Daniela Borrelli and Grazia Fortunata Falco, will introduce the event.
The show, entitled “Acta fabula est: plaudite”, will be divided into two main parts. The first, curated by Professor Daniela Borrelli, will present the results of a theater workshop for first-year high school students. Experts Maurizio Azzurro and Roberta Sandias guided the students in the reworking of the myth of Demeter and Persephone, focusing on the abduction of Persephone by Hades, god of the Underworld. The result, “The Return of Persephone”, will be a suggestive and intense one-act play that explores the life of a young woman forced to live in the darkness of the afterlife.
After a short break, the show “Miles gloriosus” by Plautus, which has already won three awards in Castel di Sangro for the current school year, will be presented in preview in the Caserta area. This show is the result of the collaboration between the module “Knowing the territory”, coordinated by Prof. Borrelli, and the module “Mens sana in corpore sano”, coordinated by Prof. Falco, together with the experts Roberta Sandias, Maurizio Azzurro and Giulia Navarra.
The students involved have revealed themselves as young promises in acting, dancing and singing, actively participating in the high school's theater workshop, which is increasingly successful every year. This workshop, curated by teachers Borrelli, Falco and Michele Casella, demonstrates the commitment of the Pietro Giannone High School in the valorization of talents, a tradition that has lasted for decades.
