"What's happening in Fratte is unacceptable. Fonderie Pisano continues to produce emissions that jeopardize the health of citizens, disregarding the public's protests and the orders of public authorities." This is the appeal launched by Michele Cammarano, regional group leader of the Five Star Movement.
"On June 5th, the Salute e Vita Association received reports of new emissions accompanied by nauseating stench coming from the Via dei Greci plant, " he added. " Over a year ago, in response to a question from me, the Environment Councilor declared that it was necessary to proceed with the closure of the Pisano Foundries and possible relocation."
President De Luca shared the same opinion, stating bluntly in March 2023 that the foundries should be closed. Many months have passed since then, but nothing has changed. As stated by the Salute e Vita Association, there is "a scientific report that objectively and irrefutably clarifies that the Pisano plant represents a danger to public health," yet everything remains as it is.
"We will not give in to immobility. I have presented a new question to the regional council to find out what stage the announced procedures are at regarding the plans to close the Fratte plant and its possible relocation. A regional intervention is urgent and cannot be postponed. We must protect the health of citizens and we must do it immediately".
