Forio councilor reported for building abuses

Forio. Carabinieri officers from the Ischia branch, as part of an operation to combat illegal construction, have reported four people and arrested one man for resisting arrest and assaulting a public official.

Among those charged is a 55-year-old man from Forio, a serving councilor with various responsibilities related to the environment and local traditions. At his home on Via Mortola, officers discovered the construction of an illegal structure measuring approximately 50 square meters.

Interventions for illegal building

Via Palummera: The Carabinieri, supported by technicians from the municipality of Forio, have reported three people for the illegal construction of a perimeter wall approximately 3 meters high. They are the owners of a home and the surveyor responsible for the work. The structure, built without any permit in an area subject to landscape, seismic, and environmental restrictions, has been seized.
Mortola Street: The Carabinieri reported a 55-year-old man for the illegal construction of a structure measuring approximately 50 square meters inside his home. The area is also subject to seismic and landscape restrictions.

Man arrested for resisting a public official

During the checks, a 33-year-old local man, already known to law enforcement, attacked the Carabinieri while clearly under the influence of alcohol. The man punched the officers before being subdued and handcuffed. He is currently in custody awaiting trial.
