Musician and singer-songwriter Giovanni Sorvillo's new album, "Il mio vestito nuovo," will be released tomorrow, June 21, on all streaming platforms. The album, titled "Il mio vestito nuovo," features ten original songs, all written by Sorvillo himself. The album's artistic production was handled by Jennà Romano, while the executive production was handled by Jean Marie Bilancioni.

Each song reflects personal experiences or people who have had a significant impact on the life of the singer-songwriter, such as his mother and musical masters such as James Senese, Larry Nocella, Antonio Balsamo and Franco Del Prete, to whom the entire work is dedicated.
Influences and Musical Style
Giovanni Sorvillo's new work represents a fusion of different musical genres, from singer-songwriter to blues, with strong ethnic-Mediterranean influences. As Sorvillo himself states: The album was born during the first pandemic, a period in which I poured all my desperation into these songs. It's made up of positive memories of my life experiences: everything I wrote is inspired by reality. The title is "My New Dress," but it's obviously a metaphor since I actually took off my dress: it represents taking a risk, throwing yourself into whatever comes, breaking away from the usual patterns.
Production and Collaborations
The album was recorded at Laboratori di Provincia. Vittorio Remino took care of the mastering at Loung Soul Lab Studio, while Salvatore di Vilio took care of the photographs and the editorial concept. The liner notes were written by Donatella Di Bella.

Giovanni Sorvillo, a musician from Orta di Atella, boasts collaborations with numerous important artists including Franco Del Prete, Larry Nocella, James Senese, Tullio De Piscopo, Joe Amoruso, Raiz, Gianni Guarracino, Vittorio Remino, Ciccio Merolla, Patrizio Trampetti, Pietra Montecorvino, Peppe Lanzetta, Isa Danieli and Claudia Gerini. Sorvillo contributed as a composer to many songs on the album «L'Ultimo Apache» by Franco Del Prete and Sud Express in 2009.
In 2016, he recorded his first album, "Cadebè," with the group "Tiempo Antico," with whom he reached the Musicultura finals the previous year. In 2019, he released his second album with the group, titled "Mea Culpa." The album "Il mio vestito nuovo" marks a further step forward in Giovanni Sorvillo's career, highlighting his eclecticism and the depth of his personal and artistic experiences.
