Sharing skills and experiences to address and overcome the new challenges facing the sector: this was the goal of the roundtable discussion, organized by GORI in Ercolano. Integrated water service providers operating in Southern Italy met again at Villa Campolieto, almost a year after their last meeting during the Servizi a Rete Tour. The discussion focused on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) as a development opportunity. Participants included ABC Napoli, Acquedotto Lucano, ASIS, Ausino, Consac, Gori, Gesesa, Sistemi Salerno, and Sorical.
The discussion took place alongside a high-level training event dedicated to advanced and sustainable techniques for improving the performance of water systems. Speakers included distinguished professors from universities across the country. Among the institutions that participated during the event were the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (National Institute of Health), the Campania Region (Vice President Fulvio Bonavitacola), and the Ente Idrico Campano (Campania Water Authority).

"GORI, as an industrial water service operator, has successfully seized nearly all the opportunities offered by the PNRR, securing approximately €100 million for water network rehabilitation and digitalization projects, which are at an advanced stage and cover the entire area served. We have also secured significant funding for wastewater treatment, to enhance current sludge management systems with a view to a circular economy, through the creation of more innovative and efficient facilities," said GORI CEO Vittorio Cuciniello. GORI representatives also included President Sabino De Blasi.
"We have highlighted the great work carried out by the Campania Water Authority to intercept funding of extraordinary importance with the Pnrr, which includes €130 million for the digitalization, districting, and redevelopment of water networks, and €59 million to improve wastewater treatment efficiency and, where possible, transform wastewater treatment plants into green factories to enable the reuse of treated water for irrigation and industrial purposes. "This is an intense and ongoing effort to achieve unprecedented environmental remediation and boost the development of our regions," added Luca Mascolo, President of the Campania Water Authority.
