The event will be held on Sunday, June 23 in Piazza Castello, an event that will honor a song that has become emblematic of the local community and has earned recognition throughout the region.
The culture of roots
“The identity and culture of a place live on popular knowledge, oral tradition and the music that accompanied life,” says Pasquale Di Cosmo, President of the organizing association. The goal of the event is to reawaken the sense of belonging of the Guardiesi through the rediscovery of their origins and the traditions that characterize them. Pasquale Di Cosmo maintains that remembering the past is fundamental to building the future of the community.
Cultural tours and guided visits
The day will begin with a series of guided visits to important cultural sites in the country, accompanied by professional guides. Destinations will include the art gallery-museum in the Town Hall, the church of San Sebastiano, the Lepidoptera museum, the Ponte Ratello viewpoint, the church of Ave Gratia Plena, the Palazzo Marotta viewpoint, Via Dietro gli Orti and the Basilica Santuario dell'Assunta.
A local promotion event
The intent of the initiative is to use the day as a showcase to show the potential of the community, which extends beyond architectural and environmental beauty, also including hospitality, history, typical products and efficiency. “Over time, our community has shown that if committed and united it can express these qualities,” Di Cosmo emphasizes.
Flash Mob and tastings
One of the highlights will be the Flash Mob from 15 to 17 p.m., during which 100 guitarists will perform “La Langella”. Participants in the Flash Mob will have the freedom to dance, sing, sit on the floor or read at the same time, filling the designated space. Everything will be filmed and broadcast live streaming. In addition, in some points of the historic center, there will be refreshment-tasting points set up thanks to the availability of local wine producers.
