Ischia bar devastated by foreign engaged couple, owner attacked

Ischia. A bar in Forio d'Ischia was vandalized by a foreign couple, a Moroccan man and a Cuban woman, who, after an argument, attacked the owner and damaged the premises to the tune of over €10.

The incident occurred at 3 a.m. last Friday. The two lovers, who were already sitting at the tables outside the bar, began arguing heatedly.

The owner, in an attempt to calm things down, intervened but was attacked and spat in the face by the woman.

The bar staff had to barricade themselves inside the premises

The staff of the bar he barricaded himself inside the premises, but the couple continued to devastate everything, breaking about 20 chairs and tables and both entrance doors. The damage amounts to over 10 thousand euros.

When the carabinieri arrived, the damage had already been done. The owner of the bar filed a complaint and provided videos of the incident to MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who asked for the couple to be identified and compensated for the damages.

Borrelli also asked for a ban on the two fiancés and for the strengthening of the presence of law enforcement on the island during periods of greatest influx.

“Unacceptable shamelessness, unheard of violence that cannot be tolerated. There is no plausible reason why decent and hard-working citizens should be exposed to such gratuitous aggression.

The violent engaged couple should be identified, compensated for the damages and a DASPO should be issued against them. It is enough to allow violent people to get away with it, there must be certainty of punishment”.
