On Thursday 6 June at 17:30 pm, at Palazzo Ricca (Via dei Tribunali, 213), the second volume of “Documento > Monumento, C'arte in Fotografie” (Guida editori) will be presented, dedicated to “The Taking of Christ” by Caravaggio. The project is coordinated by Bianca Stranieri, with Luigi Abetti as curator and photographs by Federica Gioffredi.

### The Foundation's Participation

The Foundation's Director General, Ciro Castaldo, played a crucial role in this project, facilitating the arrival of Caravaggio's work in the halls of the Banco di Napoli Foundation.

Through a complex journey of "stories of faith and bad faith," documents and photographs evoke moments of art, history, and life connected to Caravaggio in Naples. Bianca Stranieri explains that the goal is to recover and imagine places, people, and objects contemporary to the artist, important to his artistic existence.

### Interpretations and Support

The project is supported by the Banco di Napoli Foundation, with the patronage of the Superintendency of Archives and Bibliography of Campania and the Department of Literature and Cultural Heritage of the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli".

The issue features documentary interpretations by five scholars: Luigi Abetti, Gloria Guida, Sabrina Iorio, Bianca Stranieri and Andrea Zappulli. Federica Gioffredi’s black and white photographs add an important visual element to the project.

### Collaborations and Upcoming Issues

In addition to documents from various archives, this volume includes contributions from new and young scholars, with the aim of creating a broader network and broadening the evocative chorus.

The next issue of “Documento > Monumento” will be edited by Sabrina Iorio and will focus on the UNESCO sites of Campania.

### Presentation Details

The presentation will begin with greetings from Orazio Abbamonte, President of the Banco Napoli Foundation; Marcello D'Aponte, President of the Historical Archive Museum Foundation; Ciro Castaldo, General Director; and Don Gianni Citro, curator of the exhibition "The Taking of Christ." This will be followed by remarks from Bianca Stranieri, Gabriele Capone, Superintendent of Archives and Bibliography for Campania; Giulio Sodano, Director of the Department of Humanities and Cultural Heritage at the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" (DiLBeC); Maria Gabriella Pezone; and Maria Cristina Terzaghi.

### Documentary and Photographic Exhibition

On Monday, June 24th at 17:30 pm, Palazzo Carafa will host the inauguration of the documentary and photographic exhibition “Document > Monument”.

The exhibition, at the Superintendency of Archives and Bibliography of Campania, will be open to the public until July 26, offering a great opportunity to explore the world of Caravaggio through documents and photographs.
