Four historical and folkloristic events will enliven the noble town of Cava de' Tirreni in June and July 2024. The Association of Trombonieri Sbandieratori e Cavalieri (ATSC) has presented a program that will culminate on July 7th with the "Disfida dei Trombonieri – La Pergamena Bianca" (Tromboniers' Challenge – The White Parchment), now in its XNUMXth edition. The events, organized in collaboration with the Municipal Administration and sponsored by the Campania Region and RAI Campania, will offer a mix of conferences, historical reenactments, and folklore events that reflect the cultural identity of Cava de' Tirreni.
### Scientific Conference: Evolution of Muzzle-Loading Weapons
The opening of the events is scheduled for Friday, June 28, 2024, at 18:30 PM in the Conference Hall of the San Giovanni Battista Monumental Complex. The conference, titled "The Evolution of Muzzle-Loading Weapons," will be held here, where university professors and ballistics experts will discuss historical weapons. This meeting will provide a cultural and historical foundation for better understanding the city's military traditions.
### Historical Representation: The “Guasti” in the City of Cava
On the evening of June 28th, at 20:30 PM, the reenactment event "I Guasti a la Città de la Cava: A Story of Courage and Loyalty" will take place in the garden of the San Giovanni Battista Monumental Complex. Directed by Gaetano Stella, this dramatized performance will narrate significant historical episodes, offering a fascinating portrayal of the courage and loyalty that characterize the city.
### Musical-Choreographic Performances: Fedelissima City Trophy
On the weekend of June 29th and 30th, at 19:00 PM at the Simonetta Lamberti Municipal Stadium, the Casali dei Trombonieri and Sbandieratori will perform musical and choreographic performances. The event, titled "Trofeo Città Fedelissima," promises lively and engaging performances that reflect the region's rich musical and choreographic tradition.
### Historical Procession: A Journey into the 15th Century
On Saturday, July 6th, at 19:00 PM, the picturesque Borgo Grande of Cava de' Tirreni will host a Historical Parade. Starting from Piazza Mario Amabile and arriving in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III, participants will parade in traditional XNUMXth-century costumes. After the firing order is drawn, the parade will wind through the ancient porticoed village in a spectacular historical reenactment.
### The Trumpeters' Challenge: The White Parchment
The culmination of the celebrations will be on Sunday 7 July at 19:00 pm with the XLVIII edition of the “Disfida dei Trombonieri – La Pergamena Bianca”. This shooting competition between arquebusiers, which will be held at the “Simonetta Lamberti” Municipal Stadium, will see the Casali dei Trombonieri compete for the precious Pergamena Bianca and the Trofeo Città Fedelissima.
