On Friday, June 28, at 20:30 p.m., the Teatro Troisi in Naples will host the show Loro di Napoli, organized by the Accademia Caliendo. The protagonists of the evening will be the students of the prestigious music school founded by the singer-songwriter and maestro Gianfranco Caliendo, on the occasion of the Accademia's twenty-sixth anniversary.
A Musical Journey Through Naples
Every year, the Caliendo Academy organizes a great thematic show for the closing of school courses. This year, the focus is on Naples, its famous performers and its songs. The title Loro di Napoli highlights the immense creativity produced by the city over the course of various eras: from the end of the 800th century, through post-war music, up to the 70s, 80s and 90s, and arriving at the present day. It will be a wonderful journey among the artists born in this land rich in culture.
Success of the Vernacular Song and Charity
The idea for the show was born following the surge in success that has recently brought the song in vernacular back to the world charts, including those of the famous Billboard. As per tradition, the event is linked to a charity project; this year, the proceeds will go to the Cittadinanza Attiva association.
“Loro di Napoli” Award to Marsica De Angelis
During the event, the “Loro di Napoli” award will be given to the singer Marsica De Angelis, a former student of Gianfranco Caliendo and the Academy. The young artist has achieved enormous success with millions of plays and views, confirming her talent.
History and Successes of Caliendo Academy
Founded by Gianfranco Caliendo in 1998, the Academy was moved to Pianura in 2006, where it has a large facility that also houses the professional recording studio Officine della Musica.
