Naples. Hunt for the fugitive of the Filo Inverso gang: the expert robbers who between October 2022 and August 2023 carried out numerous robberies for a total loot of 130 thousand euros.
The criminals' technique was well-tested and took place in three phases:
Observation: the victims were identified, usually entrepreneurs, merchants or commercial agents.
Stalking: a member of the gang, the “filatore”, followed the victim to study his habits and understand when he made cash deposits.
Aggression: the victim was suddenly attacked, with the use of firearms, shortly before depositing the money in the bank.
The Carabinieri of the Naples Investigative Unit, coordinated by the Aversa Prosecutor's Office, have defeated two dangerous gangs specializing in robberies using the "reverse wire" technique.
The operation, called “Invisible Thread”, led to the arrest of 7 people:
- Gennaro Aprea (40 years old)
Vincenzo Cangiano (60 years old)
Rosario Cimminiello (52 years old)
Salvatore Esposito (58 years old)
Federico Minieri (52 years old)
William Pellegrino (66 years old)
Santo Petito (32 years old)
The defendants are charged, to varying degrees, with criminal association and robbery aggravated by the use of weapons.

Cards registered to nominees
2 toy guns

Law enforcement is continuing its investigations to identify any accomplices and reconstruct the complete picture of the activities of the band
Finally, it was possible to gather serious evidence of a crime against two further individuals for the commission of a robbery using the “reverse wire” technique, which took place on 6 October in Arzano to the detriment of the manager of a tobacconist's for a total profit of 20.000,00 euros.
But also of three attempted robberies committed, with similar methods, between February and March 2023 in the municipality of Pozzuoli.
