Naples. Tomorrow begins the search with special means in Mexico to find Leonardo Franco, the Neapolitan who disappeared in the Central American country last October 2.
The family reports a kidnapping and now the Mexican National Commission for the Search for Missing Persons, together with the investigative team of Manisco World, is mobilized to find him.
The search will focus on the state of Guanajuato, where Franco is believed to have been kidnapped, and will also extend to areas controlled by local drug traffickers.
The operation, defined by Luigi Ferrandino, president of Manisco World, "an unprecedented intelligence operation for a missing Italian", sees the participation of Leonardo's father, Antonio Franco, and the president of the Manisco association, Virginia Melissa Adamo.
"We will do everything to bring Nardo home."
Also on site were an escort of 16 armed men, along with local law enforcement, the Special Investigation Team for Missing Persons, the Army, the Navy, and other groups collaborating with the authorities. Ferrandino is determined: "We will do everything to bring Nardo home."
Leonardo Franco's case has shed light on the scourge of kidnappings in Mexico, a country where violence and lawlessness are unfortunately still widespread. Hopes for Franco's recovery are high, but his story brings to mind those of the other three Neapolitans. Antonio Russo, Vincenzo Cimmino and Raffaele Russo disappeared on December 31, 2018 and of whom no further news has been received.
