In bookstores since April 25, L'ora di Educazione collects and organizes in a volume the writings that have appeared in recent years in the columns of Corriere del Mezzogiorno, in which Patrizia de Mennato - university professor and recognized animator of Villa di Donato - analyzes cultural and social events, both Neapolitan and national, reflecting on the broader educational issues.
A series of lively and interesting articles – explains the director Enzo d'Errico in the preface – in which one can clearly see the independence of judgment and the scientific rigor with which Patrizia de Mennato treats all the issues of pedagogy (and not only), with «the youth of a gaze not obscured by academic dust, and a writing that knows how to accompany you, line by line, to the end of the reasoning». Writings that never leave you indifferent «because, through a compass with unpublished cardinal points, they climb the impervious paths of the relationship between old and new generations, exploring every possible seam in the gap that divides them, today even more than yesterday».
Patrizia de Mennato, creator and curator of the cultural events of Villa di Donato, is a full professor of General and Social Pedagogy. She has taught in Naples, Catania and Florence, where she founded the Laboratory of Medical Education through the use of films; and in 2008 she participated in the drafting of the Manifesto of the Italian Society of Medical Pedagogy (SIPeM). Her main publications concern the epistemology of educational knowledge and training in the professions of education and care; but for some years she has begun to transfer her university experience into the more agile and free forms of the journalistic article.
