"We've secured €200 billion in funding, crucial resources for an area no one had ever considered financing before: Bagnoli." With these words, the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, announced the significant allocation on the sidelines of the presentation of the Bank of Italy's 2023 Campania Economic Report.
According to the mayor, this investment represents a fundamental step for the city's growth and for the redevelopment of an area that Naples and the entire Phlegraean Fields have been waiting for for thirty years. "It's an important occasion.", ha sottolineato Manfredi, expressing the hope that, thanks to these resources, the reclamation and the necessary infrastructures can be completed by 2029, returning Bagnoli to the city.
The funding not only marks a historic moment for Naples, but also for the entire Campania region, highlighting the institutions' commitment to promoting the redevelopment and revitalization of abandoned areas. Mayor Manfredi also emphasized the importance of effective and transparent management of these resources to ensure the project's success, reiterating the city administration's commitment to closely monitoring every phase of the work.
