Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi has expressed his enthusiastic support for the recent appointment of Antonio Conte as Napoli's new coach. Following the official presentation at the Royal Palace, Manfredi praised President Aurelio De Laurentiis' decision.
"I think that Antonio Conte is the right person, De Laurentiis made an excellent choice," the mayor said. "I really appreciated your words.
Naples is certainly a city with great passion, but alongside that great passion, it must also be supported by hard work and organization, which Neapolitans possess; they just need to be appropriately stimulated."
Manfredi highlighted Conte's qualities, highlighting how his experience and background make him particularly suited to lead the Neapolitan team. "Conte is a man from the South who has coached great teams, including in the Premier League, and is the footballing leader we needed at Napoli. De Laurentiis made an excellent choice, and I'm very confident he will bring the team back to Spalletti's level. It's the right choice, and I think we've started off on the right foot."
