Three stolen cars, a crude explosive device, and two police flashlights were found yesterday by the State Police during a high-impact operation in a garage in Marigliano, in the province of Naples.
Approximately 50 officers from the Naples Flying Squad and the Police Stations of Acerra, San Giuseppe Vesuviano and Nola carried out a series of house searches in the municipalities of Somma Vesuviana, Brusciano and Marigliano.
In Marigliano itself, three Alfa Romeo Giuliettas were found in a garage attached to a house, all of which were found stolen. Inside the cars, a rudimentary explosive device measuring approximately 25 cm x 10 cm was seized, consisting of a fuel tank and a small remote control to operate a device, which was found in a box inside the trunk.
False license plates and two portable blue flashing lights with a cable for connection to the cigarette lighter and a two-tone siren, similar to those supplied to the police force, were also found.
Two rifles hidden in a field near the garage
The search also extended to a small plot of land near the garage, where approximately 120 cartridges of various calibers, a 12-gauge shotgun with a cut barrel and a long-range rifle with a sliding and rotating bolt were discovered, partially buried.
