Metropolitana di Napoli Spa specifies that the illegal dumping that occurred in the Suarez quarry has nothing to do with the construction of the Capodichino station.
The company itself announced this in a note, underlining that the quarry had been regularly authorised to receive excavation materials from the Campania Region.
The deliveries, which began between late 2015 and early 2016, were immediately suspended by Capodichino As.M. following the seizure of the quarry. The quarry was subsequently removed from the list of designated sites in the Capodichino station's Land Use Plan (PUT).
Metropolitana di Napoli Spa also specifies that, as shown in the transport documents, the Suarez quarry Only 200 cubic meters of materials were allocated out of the total 196.000 planned.
All materials from the Capodichino station's waste management plan (PUT), drawn up pursuant to Ministerial Decree no. 161 of 10/08/2012, underwent in-depth preventive analyses and, during their implementation, always showed contamination threshold concentration (CSC) values attributable to column A of table 1 of Annex 5 to Part Four of Legislative Decree no. 152 of 2006.
Finally, the PUT of the Capodichino station was taken as a reference by the Campania Region for subsequent activities of reuse of excavation materials carried out in the territory.
Metropolitana di Napoli Spa reaffirms its commitment to environmental protection and legality.
