General Claudio Graziano, chairman of Fincantieri, has died. The news was announced by the Group itself, which expressed its condolences. "Immense sorrow at the sudden passing of the President, who leaves a great and unfillable void." The CEO and General Manager Pierroberto Folgiero, the Board of Directors, the Board of Auditors, the managers and all the employees of Fincantieri remembered with emotion the extraordinary human and professional qualities that have always distinguished him in his long career.

The news has deeply shocked the institutions. The President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, expressed his condolences on Facebook: "I learned with shock and deep sorrow of the passing of General Claudio Graziano, president of Fincantieri and former Chief of the Defence Staff."

A valiant public servant who held important roles in national and international institutions, achieving well-deserved success and recognition everywhere. Claudio was a true friend, with whom I was fortunate to work as Minister of Defense, and whom I spent time with in the years that followed, along with his beloved Marisa. My personal condolences and those of the Senate extend to his loved ones.

Meloni: "Shocked by the tragic news"

Even the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, wanted to express his closeness in an official note: "I am shocked by the news of the tragic passing of General Claudio Graziano. We are saddened by the loss of a supremely upright public servant who, throughout his life, honored the nation, the Armed Forces, and our institutions with dedication, competence, and professionalism. On behalf of myself and the entire Government, I wish to extend my condolences and deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones."
