The search for Leonardo Franco, the Italian man who disappeared in Mexico last October, resumes today at 20 p.m. (Italian time) in a high-risk area controlled by drug traffickers.
Local authorities have strengthened the escort and search team, now composed of over 30 men and women from the Navy, Army, and law enforcement special forces, with the assistance of canine units.
An inspection of some wells and the analysis of an informant's cell phone led to the identification of the area to be searched. According to the lawyer, Louis Ferrandino, head of the investigative team of the Manisco World, the informant would have provided useful information on the whereabouts of Leonardo.
On board the special vehicles there will also be Antonio Franco, Leonardo's father, e Virginia Adam, president of Manisco World. The operation was coordinated by the lawyer Ferrandino in collaboration with the Guanajuato Prosecutor's Office.
The search area hit by a hurricane in recent days
Despite the failure of the past few days and the hurricane hitting the area, the search continues. "Military personnel will move forward, whatever the obstacles.", Ferrandino declared. "We are aware of the enormous difficulties, but we will not stop until we find Leonardo."
The commitment of the authorities and the family franc he does not waver, fueled by the hope of finding Leonardo safe and sound.
