Naples. Officers from the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza in Naples arrested a 37-year-old man, a resident of Naples, accused of being a drug courier. He was arrested as part of an operation that led to the seizure of 96,300 kg of hashish.
The investigation began on July 13, 2023, when the finance police of the GOA Section intercepted a car on the A1, towards Naples, coming from Spain. During the check, the hashish was found cleverly hidden inside the vehicle.
L'car driver, a man resident in Scampia, was arrested red-handed and sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of 30.000 euros.

The investigations continued and allowed the identification of a second individual, who acted as a courier, who was traveling on board another car with German license plates. The man, already burdened by a criminal record, was arrested today.
In addition to the drugs and cars, the cell phones of those arrested were also seized. Analysis of the data contained in the devices provided further evidence to support the charges.
