Naples. Last night, officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid intervened in via Michelangelo da Caravaggio following a report of a fire received by the local Operations Room.
Upon arrival, officers found firefighters putting out a fire in a gazebo outside a commercial business.
Thanks to the investigations carried out, including viewing the images from the video surveillance system, it emerged that an individual had approached the structure, had sprinkled it with lflammable liquid and then set on fire, quickly moving away immediately afterwards.
The police then began the search for the man, who was tracked down and stopped a short distance away, in Via Cassiodoro.
The suspect, a 31-year-old Ivorian with a criminal record, was arrested on suspicion of arson.
