The installation of raised crossings, which also act as speed bumps, began today in Naples on some particularly critical city streets.
The first two were built in via Terracina while, in the next few days, the work will continue to position another two in via Cattolica and, subsequently, in corso Vittorio Emanuele and corso Malta.
First Interventions in Via Terracina
The first raised crossings were installed on Via Terracina. These speed bumps not only increase pedestrian safety, but also act as speed bumps, forcing vehicles to slow down. This intervention is the result of a careful analysis of the most dangerous urban areas, a choice based on accident data collected by the city administration and the Municipal Police.
The initiative will continue in the coming days with the installation of additional raised crossings on Via Cattolica. Subsequently, attention will shift to other critical areas such as Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Corso Malta. This systematic approach aims to progressively cover all high-risk areas of the city.

A Long Term Plan
Within 10 days, this first phase of the intervention plan will be completed, with which the Municipal Administration intends to address in a concrete and effective way the problem of the high accident rate detected in some city streets. The project includes the installation of speed bumps in all Municipalities, prioritizing the streets with the highest accident rate.
The Municipal Police and Infrastructure departments have formed a working group that, by analyzing accident data and the characteristics of the main roads of all the Municipalities, will identify those most at risk. This coordination will allow for planning targeted interventions to increase road safety effectively.
Continuous monitoring aims to evaluate and plan further actions aimed at reducing the number of accidentsThe ultimate goal of the City of Naples is to ensure maximum road safety, one of the city administration's priorities. This constant commitment reflects the attention paid to citizen safety and the quality of urban life.
