Naples. At first light today the Carabinieri of the Stella company alerted by 112 intervened in Piazza Nolana following a report regarding an injured person.
From initial reconstructions, still to be verified, it seems that a fight had broken out in the area shortly before.
Once they reached Piazza Nolana, the Carabinieri discovered numerous traces of blood, but no person was present in the indicated place.
However, a few minutes later, an injured person was reported in Piazza Garibaldi, near the statue. The individual called for help from a Carabinieri patrol stationed nearby.
The victim, who suffered injuries to his left arm and neck, was promptly transferred by 118 personnel to Ospedale del Mare. The man's condition is critical: his life is in danger and he is currently being resuscitated.
The injured man is of Maghreb nationality
The injured man is a Maghreb national, but has not yet been identified due to the urgency and critical nature of his condition.
The Carabinieri are now trying to gather more information to clarify what happened and identify those responsible.
This morning's attack is just the latest act of violence reported in Naples news in recent weeks, particularly in the Porta Nolana area.
