Naples. In a region like Campania, where 45% of adolescents are reported to the judicial authorities, "it is a moral and political obligation for us, as an institution, to promote cultural experiences that can lead our young people to concrete examples of commitment and love for beauty."
This was stated by the President of the Campania Regional Council, Gennaro Oliviero, at the press conference for the presentation of the second edition of the International Music Competition, promoted by the "La Fenice" association.
The event took place in the Nassiriya Hall of the Council, in the Naples business district, in the presence of Giogio's mother, Daniela Di Maggio, seated next to President Oliviero and Katia Cerullo of "La Fenice," the competition's promoter. "The beauty versus the ugliness of violence must be an imperative for us," continued Oliviero.
At the moment, registrations are open and participants, in addition to Italians, come from Wales, France, Germany, Tunisia, Belgium, Japan, China, Norway, Argentina, Chile, Australia, Ukraine, Croatia, Morocco, South Africa, California and one registered participant will arrive from Miami.

A cultural movement born from the tragic event
"These initiatives and so many others are a miracle. After my son's death, a cultural movement of rebellion was born that shocked everyone, including me," said Daniela Di Maggio.
In Castel Volturno a small musical group was also born, composed of children of various nationalities, many of them Africans, who wanted to call their group with the name of Giorgio'. President Oliviero offered to donate them a horn, an instrument used by the young Giovanbattista and necessary to complete the instruments.
"I jealously guard Giovanbattista's last message," Katia Cerullo confessed. "It was my duty to name this edition after him." "The ultimate goal will also be to create a commitment for children with autism," declared psychotherapist Enrica Cortile, who attended the conference.
"Supporting autistic children with music and enabling music to become a career," Cortile concluded, "is another challenge we want to take on."
The competition, meanwhile, is scheduled from October 8th to 11th in Palma Campania.
