Naples. A 16-year-old girl was rescued last night by the Fire Department after falling onto the rocks on the Naples waterfront, breaking her leg.
The accident occurred yesterday evening, Sunday 2 June 2024, shortly after 20:00 PM, near the breakwater that runs along Via Nazario Sauro, a short distance from Castel dell'Ovo.
The girl slipped on the rocks and remained stuck, unable to move. The Fire Department intervened promptly with a vehicle equipped with a lifting basket to recover her.
Once they reached the girl, firefighters stabilized her and placed her in a stretcher, then brought her back to dry land with the help of a crane. There, she was handed over to the 118 emergency medical personnel, who provided first aid and then transported her to the hospital for further evaluation.
The operation of rescue, coordinated by team leader Alessandro Izzo, involved teams 18/b of the Historic Centre and 1/b of the Central Headquarters of the Naples Fire Brigade Command, who intervened with a ladder truck and a SAF unit.
The timely and professional action of the Fire Brigade was essential to save the girl and ensure she received the necessary medical care.
