Yesterday evening, an off-duty officer from the Flying Squad (Falchi) witnessed a theft in Piazza Nicola Amore. The officer noticed a man approaching a woman, snatching her cell phone from her hands, and fleeing on a bus.
Without ever losing sight of it, the policeman He followed the bus and, in the meantime, contacted the Operations Room, which radioed the alarm. Moments later, officers from the Flying Squad and the Decumani Police Station intervened, apprehending the suspect and finding him in possession of the stolen phone.
The man, a 31-year-old Moroccan with a police record, was arrested for snatching the phone. The cell phone was promptly returned to its rightful owner. This incident highlights the effectiveness and promptness of law enforcement in combating crime, ensuring safety and justice for citizens.
