
Naples. The Financial Police of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, in collaboration with the Special Unit for the Protection of Privacy and Technological Fraud of Rome, have dismantled an illegal streaming platform that had approximately 2 thousand users.
The operation, coordinated by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, led to the arrest of one suspect and the seizure of 19 websites, a central server, and 64 cryptocurrency wallets.
The suspect, originally from and resident in Naples, managed the platform illegal streaming Selling subscriptions ranging in price from €10 per month to €80 per year. The content offered included TV listings, TV series, and other copyrighted entertainment content stolen from major streaming platforms.
Illicit proceeds
In just two years, the illicit activity generated profits of over €580. The proceeds were diverted to domestic and foreign bank accounts, web payment platforms, and concentrated in 64 digital cryptocurrency wallets.
Investigations and seizure
The investigation, conducted by the Economic Crime Section of the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, uncovered the suspect's modus operandi, which included using fictitious identities to conceal his activities.

The Finance Police seized 19 websites used to spread illegal content, a central server with modern IT equipment, 64 cryptocurrency wallets and numerous IT devices used to generate cryptocurrencies.
Other alleged crimes
In addition to copyright infringement, the suspect is also charged with impersonation and self-laundering.
Drug seizure
During the search of the suspect, the Finance Police also seized approximately 34 grams of marijuana, a precision electronic scale, and four cannabis plants placed in a mini indoor greenhouse.
The operation demonstrates the Guardia di Finanza's commitment to combating audiovisual piracy and money laundering, protecting copyright and the legal market.
