Naples. Tomorrow morning, activists from the "Mare libero e gratuito" committee will protest against restricted access to public beaches in Naples.

The protest is motivated by the inability to freely access the beaches due to the online booking system introduced by the municipality.

Today the free beaches of Naples are already sold out for tomorrow. The available places have already run out at 15 pm yesterday. Those who have not booked in advance will not be able to access the beaches.

Activists announce forceful action

Activists from the "Mare libero e gratuito" (Free and Free Sea) committee have announced that tomorrow they will "bend" the rules, entering the beaches and demanding access to the shoreline, as required by law. The protest will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. along the Posillipo beach resorts.

"Free beaches for all"

"We are protesting against the unacceptable resolution by the City Council and the Central Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority, which imposes a limited number of people and limits on the city's already few free beaches," explains Giuliano Esposito of "Gaiola Libera." "We want to give the sea back to Neapolitans without restrictions."

Dirty Beaches: Activists Clean Up

In addition to protesting the reservation system, committee activists will be cleaning the often-abandoned public beaches. "Last year, they were thoroughly cleaned," they complain, "but this year, when the gates open, we find a lot of uncollected garbage."

The Municipality opens some beaches without limits

The Councillor for Marine Policies Edoardo Cosenza has announced that some beaches will be open without limits and suitable for swimming: the beach at Rotonda Diaz, at Largo Sermoneta, the small beaches at Ferdinando Russo and Marechiaro.

How to book Posillipo beaches

To access the public beaches of Posillipo, you must make a reservation the day before for the following day with entry by 13 pm. If you do not show up, the reservation automatically expires. You can make three reservations per week for the same person. Minors must be accompanied.

The battle for free beaches

The battle for the free beaches This has been going on in Naples for several years. Residents complain that the few free beaches are often inaccessible due to the reservation system. Activists are calling on the City Council to eliminate the reservation system and guarantee free beach access for all.
