This morning the fifth edition of NapoliCittàLibro – Salone del Libro e dell'Editoria was officially inaugurated with the Fanfara dei Bersaglieri and the traditional ribbon cutting.

The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi, the coordinator of Cultural Policies of the Municipality of Naples Sergio Locoratolo, the central editor-in-chief of TGR Rai Campania Oreste Lo Pomo, the presidents of the regional Publishers' Associations of Campania, Puglia, Abruzzo and Marche, and the publishers Alessandro Polidoro and Rosario Bianco, respectively president and vice president of the Liber@Arte association. The event will take place from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 June at the Congress Center of the Maritime Station of Naples.
The Thematic Areas
The theme of this edition, “Re-Generations”, will be explored through five thematic islands: “Genres”, “Visions”, “Generations”, “Cognitions” and “New Memories”. These thematic areas will offer a wide range of content and activities designed to stimulate cultural debate and promote reading.

The event is organized by the Liber@Arte association and has received contributions from the Center for Books and Reading. It has the patronage and support of the Municipality of Naples, the Ministry of Culture and other institutions such as the Embassy of the Republic of Albania, Rai Campania, the Chamber of Commerce of Naples, Campania Legge – Fondazione Premio Napoli, Fai Campania, Ace Associazione Campana Editori, Ali – Association of Italian Booksellers Confcommercio and Aib – Italian Library Association. The media partnership is entrusted to Rai.
Editorial Presences
There will be 136 publishing houses, including several national publishing houses with their authors. The spaces of the Stazione Marittima in Naples will also host the TgR Campania, which will tell the event in its news programs and will present the Agorà space of Leggilibri, curated by Claudio Ciccarone.
Initiatives and Collaborations
Among the notable initiatives, Raipoesia2022, Luigia Sorrentino's web project for TGR Campania, will inaugurate "La stanza dei poeti", with poetry readings that will be held on Friday 14 and Sunday 16 June at Sala Urania 2. In addition, the Liber@Arte association will launch a new format that combines music and poetry: "Napoli Sound Fest, voices and sounds of the city", with three events scheduled for Saturday 15 June.
Special events
Also this year the International School of Comics will hold workshops dedicated to comics and new media. NapoliCittàLibro will also celebrate the tenth anniversary of “Una giornata leggend…aria – Libri e lettori per le strade del Vomero”, a party with readings by teachers and students and artistic performances.
Participation of Bookclub and Born to Read
Numerous national and regional book clubs will participate with dedicated events, while “Nati per Leggere” will have a space where it will exhibit books, inform families about the benefits of reading and organize reading moments included in the event calendar. Unicef Campania will also be present with the reading workshops “Leggere i diritti”.
