A 53-year-old worker was stopped by the Carabinieri of Marcianise on charges of being the author of the double homicide that occurred today between Succivo and Orta di Atella, near the exit of the A16 along the Asse Mediano
The victims are two brothers, Marco and Claudio Marrandino, aged 40 and 29 respectively. The first was a lawyer, while the second was a construction contractor.
According to initial reconstructions, the worker, with no criminal record, was aboard his car, while the Marrandino brothers were in their BMW.
Both cars were stationary when, for reasons yet to be clarified, an argument broke out between the three men.
The worker pulled out a gun and fired, killing the two brothers. The first to be hit and die was the lawyer. Marco Marrandino who was sitting on the passenger side.
The arrested person is a 53-year-old worker: perhaps work-related disagreements with the entrepreneur Claudio Marrandino are behind the double homicide
His brother Claudio instead got out of the car and tried to escape but was caught and killed about ten meters away: he was found with his cell phone in his hands, perhaps he was trying to call someone.
The bodies were discovered by a Carabinieri patrol that was passing through the area.
At the moment, investigators are ruling out the Camorra lead and are focusing on possible previous conflicts between the brothers and the murderer as a motive for the crime.
Investigations are underway by the Carabinieri, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, to shed light on the exact dynamics of the incident and to ascertain the responsibilities of the arrested person.
