A dot appears on the horizon: it advances slowly, then accelerates until it reaches Iannuzzi's car. It is Roberto Bembo, who collapses after hitting his three attackers with his bare hands.
Thus begins the dramatic reconstruction in the Assize Court of Avellino, presented by the inspector of the Flying Squad, Roberto De Fazio.
The investigator describes the images recorded by the cameras on January 21st of the previous year, in the parking lot of the bar on Via Nazionale Torrette, where the XNUMX-year-old from Mercogliano was mortally wounded by Niko Iannuzzi's stab wounds during a brawl that broke out over trivial reasons.
Roberto Bembo will die ten days later in hospital. In the silence of the courtroom, De Fazio continues the description of the images to the President of the Court, Gian Piero Scarlato: “Roberto feels the blow and puts his hand to his neck, understands that he has to leave and staggers away. Bembo he was surrounded by his three attackers. Up until that point he had managed to sustain the fight, but after receiving the blow to the throat, his strength began to fail and he moved away from the scene of the fight”.
The victim was stabbed in the throat and lost his strength
The request to show the film in the courtroom was made by the lawyers Gaetano Aufiero and Stefano Vozzella, defenders of the three defendants, Niko Iannuzzi and the brothers Luca and Daniele Sciarrillo, detained on charges of voluntary homicide aggravated by futile motives, a request shared by the prosecutor Vincenzo Toscano.
In the previous hearings, in fact, the testimonies of the friends who were with Roberto that morning had not clarified the exact dynamics of the facts. The next hearing has been set for July 10 and will be dedicated to the testimonies of the civil party.
