Cervinara. The hearings of the appeal trial for the murder of Nicola Zeppetelli, the forty-year-old from Cervinara killed on February 19, 2022, continue.
Today, at the Naples Assize Court, the lawyers for the civil parties reiterated the charges against Alessio Maglione and Giuseppe Moscatiello, both already convicted in the first instance.
Attorney Vittorio Fucci, representing the majority of the civil parties, including the victim's family, strongly supported the convictions. His arguments were also shared by attorneys Rolando Iorio and Marianna Febbraio, representing the other civil parties.
In contrast, Moscatiello's defense attorney, Luigi Petrillo, attempted to downplay the severity of the charges against his client.
The final hearing in the trial is scheduled for September 26, 2024, when Maglione's defense will present their arguments.

The requests for conviction
The civil parties, represented by various lawyers, requested confirmation of the first-instance sentences handed down to Maglione and Moscatiello: life imprisonment for Maglione and 18 years of prison for Moscatiello.

Nicola Zeppetelli He was shot dead on the evening of February 19, 2022, near his club in Cervinara. The alleged killers, Alessio Maglione and Giuseppe Moscatiello, had gone into hiding but were arrested two days later at a home in Arienzo.
According to the prosecution, the murder occurred during a heated argument over passion. Maglione and Zeppetelli had known each other for some time and apparently had had arguments in the past.
