Following the strongest tremor on May 20th, part of the recent seismic swarm that struck the Phlegraean Fields, 130 inmates from the Pozzuoli prison were transferred to various prison facilities. The inmates were distributed among seven prisons in Campania and three outside the region, with 15 transferred to Milan, 10 to Venice, and 5 to Perugia. This displacement interrupted important training and social reintegration experiences.
The President of the Regional Council for the Condition of Women, Ilaria Perrelli, expressed concern and hoped for the return of the prisoners to Naples, possibly to the prison of Secondigliano. "Over the years, significant workshops and experiences have been established and developed in the women's prison in Pozzuoli, including coffee roasting, chocolate making, fashion, and tailoring, as well as sewing, gym, acting, and singing classes." Perrelli stressed.

"We, as a regional council, also held two courses, one on proper nutrition for physical well-being in prison and the other on physical activity. Many inmates also work outside the prison." Perrelli emphasized the importance of these paths of excellence, which offer women the awareness and opportunities to pursue a different path.
"Change is possible, but only if you have an opportunity. This cannot be squandered. That's why we hope the Ministry of Justice will find a solution to reunite this community, allowing all women to continue the work they were doing."
