Pietramelara. Unreconciled by the end of his relationship with his partner, a 36-year-old local man threatened and assaulted the woman, a 30-year-old he had been with for 15 years. The incident occurred last night at the woman's home.
The man showed up at his ex-partner's house threatening to set fire to her front door if she didn't open up. Once inside, he began to rant against the woman, accusing her of being with another man and threatening to burn her and her alleged new partner if he saw them together.
The woman, exasperated, called the police. The soldiers, arriving on the scene, found the couple still arguing. The man, despite the presence of the police, continued to threaten his ex-partner, and was eventually arrested.
At the barracks, the woman also reported other episodes of aggression suffered by the man in the past, which he had never reported.
The arrested man was locked up in the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison.
